Spain - Still Not Giving Up - RTE's High Hopes

Logo RTVE.svgA few days ago, Spanish broadcaster, RTVE, updated their website for Copenhagen 2014 and around two weeks ago, assigned their commentator - this obviously means they are participating. Now, after round and round of bad results, surely you'd think Spain would give up. Well it seems not. Maybe Pastora Soler's 10th place, 97 points, raised RTVE's spirits? Or perhaps it's how Spanish music is becoming love more and more every year thanks to Eurovision? Whatever it is, RTVE are still entering and it seems they will still enter for years to come.

Pastora Soler stormed into every Eurovision Fan's heart with her beautiful song "Quedate Conmigo (Stay with me)". It left an impressionable feel on fans, especially Portugal and the United Kingdom; the Portuguese awarding her 12 points and the Brits awarding her 8 points. After the voting, she finished in the top 10 - 10th with 97 points. Although not the best result, for Spain, it is truly a great result.

So RTVE are participating in Eurovision 2014. Held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Will they send Spanish-type music, guitars, drums, saucy dancers or will they slow it down, violins, pianos, ballet, like Pastora? Whatever they do, as usual, RTVE will be looking for a good result after El Sueno de Morfeo's 25th place (nonetheless, they beat a favourite to win -- Ryan Dolan representing Ireland).

I wish Spain the best of luck. Who knows, maybe Pastora will want to avenge her country? Spain, I'm rooting for you!
