In total, 46-48 countries have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest before. Yet, the current rules are set to 45 participants. And there are also countries looking to start Eurovision. So can we be looking at a substantial rule change within the Eurovision? If you think logically, there are about 50-52 countries who can participate in Europe's favourite contest.
Adding onto the fourty-six:
Kazakstan wish to participate;
Liechtenstein wish to participate;
Kosovo wish to participate;
Lebanon were going to, but received a sanction for leaving Israel out on their ESC Site.
So as you can see, 50-52.
But let's think logically.. how many will be present at Copenhagen?
Already, 27 countries will definitely be there, not to mention the 7 countries who will most likely be there. So 34 already; countries such as Azerbaijan, Armenia and Romania have not yet revealed plans, but all countries are suspected to be there, making the total 37. And then there's the comeback on the hands from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland and Portugal. So really, we're looking at the same numbers as the Malmo contest, 39-40. Whatever happens, I'm still excited and I cannot WAIT!
