Anouk of the Netherlands did the nation proud, scoring a place in the final (after 9 years) and even coming in the Top 10 doing so. And it's obvious that the Netherlands are wanting to qualify once again as Anouk is writing the song, once again. She wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the music to her song "Birds" which came 9th in the final, scoring the Netherlands 114 points.
The Netherlands are perhaps wanting to match France, Luxembourg, Sweden and the UK's winning toll.
First place: Ireland - 7 wins
Second place: Sweden, Luxembourg, France and the UK - 5 wins
Third place: Netherlands - 4 wins
So if they Netherlands win in Copenhagen, they will be classed as the "top 5/6" Eurovision countries ever.
Will Anouk move away from her usual Lana Del Ray like music, or will she write another song like birds? What's known is that the Netherlands are having two broadcasters help with this (presumably, both broadcasters get broadcasting rights). TROS, the broadcaster who finally got the Netherlands into the final is once again searching for the Netherlands next participant but this time with the help of AVRO. So two broadcasters combined. Will this result in a win for a country who are so desperate to end a string of bad results and start a string of good?
Whatever happens, I am saluting the Netherlands. Although they may not get my vote (it depends when the time comes) I wish them the best and wouldn't mind going to NL in 2015.
