Eurovision is like a religion in Belarus. The contest is taken so seriously that in 2012, when Alyona won for the first time, the Belorussian president ordered a recount, so Alyona didn't win in the end. They take it that seriously. But anyway... the Belorussian state broadcaster, BTRC, have said, "Yes, we will be at Copenhagen."
The wonderful Belarus is yet to win the contest after its debut in 2004. Its best result has been 2007, when it came 6th, coming closely behind Bulgaria's Elitsa and Stoyan. The song was Koyun's "Work Your Magic".
But if you wanted to be technical, some could say Belarus have already won, because in fact, Alexander Rybak - the most successful Eurovision artist of all time - is Belorussian by blood.
Either way, Belarus always send unique acts. And 2013 was no exception. #Solayoh, solayoh, where the sun is always shining on ya', we playo, we playo, to the rhythm of a cha cha#
Who could forget Alyona Lanskaya's eccentric and energetic performance of the dance song Solayoh?
Why not take another listen?
